Age Concern Mid North

Charitable Organisation providing support and advocacy services to older residents in the Mid North Area (Towai to Waipapa, Russell to Kaikohe)

GROUP Age Concern Mid North runs health promotion seminars and workshops available free to any over-65’s in the area. The Accredited Visiting Service provides a regular social visit to any older person who is either alone or simply lonely. The subsidised Taxi Service enables those over 65 without available transport to access health care, and/or other services (e.g. Supermarket or Social activities). Working under contract with NZTA (formerly LTNZ) we also facilitate the Safe With Age Driving Courses, which give anyone over the age of 55 the opportunity to update their driving and road knowledge in a safe classroom environment. A regular bi-monthly newsletter is sent to every member as well as being available to the general public through libraries, medical centres, RSA’s and other community facilities.
