The Paihia Christmas Parade which is organized by Business Paihia once again had amazing floats in the theme ‘Rivers of the World’, we had the Queen on the Thames, Cleopatra on the Nile, The Zambezi, Taniwha’s and dolphins, and of course the Waitangi River.

Paihia Summer Festival praised by visitors

The Paihia Summer Festival once again got sunshine and clear skies.  There was a great turn out of participants and spectators at the events and really positive feedback from all attending.  The festival is free and has many locals attending year after year, but it also has many tourists and visitors to the area attending each day.  Some families that are visiting for a week in the Bay of Islands will attend each day and all of them just think it is wonderful that Business Paihia organizes these events.

Local boy comes home with legendary band DRAGON to headline “it!” Bay of Islands Festival.

This Labour weekend will see the inaugural it! Bay of Islands festival launched in Paihia. The festival will kick-start the Bay’s summer, celebrating some of the finest Northland and New Zealand wineries, tasty regional fare, a range of Monteiths beer, and world-class entertainment.  The main party will be on Saturday, (the 23rd), which sees the music programme culminating with the iconic kiwi band, Dragon.  For the band’s singer, Mark Williams, the gig will be a return to his Northland roots.
